Saturn’s Southern Decagon Fails Orbital Compliance Review

The Bureau of Celestial Geometry has issued a formal notice of non-compliance regarding the recently confirmed ten-sided vortex in Saturn’s southern hemisphere, stating that the planet already holds a registered hexagon in its northern polar region. The southern decagon, which has persisted for approximately three weeks without causing any measurable change in jet stream velocity, was identified by a team of spectroscopists during a routine calibration exercise. The feature was logged in the system as a natural occurrence, a classification that the Bureau subsequently disputed. “We cannot have two major geometric claims on the same sphere, it complicates the tax assessment for ring systems,” said a spokesperson for the Bureau, who declined to specify which tax is currently being calculated for the rings.

The institute’s communications director noted that the edit was made to avoid a citation error, a charge they have not yet received.
The Office of Continuity of Ordinary Things has listed the suspension as a standard procedural pause, noting that similar measures have been applied to cloud formations that exceeded their allocated altitude limits. The office confirmed that no physical intervention is planned, and that the decagon will continue to rotate at its current speed of approximately 120 kilometers per hour, a figure that remains in force despite its pending withdrawal.
The matter is expected to be referred to a higher tribunal if the decagon persists for another lunar cycle. In the meantime, the Bureau has requested that the planet maintain a neutral posture regarding its geometry. A clerk at the Bureau’s main office stated that the filing for the southern feature has been moved to the “pending review” folder, which is located on a shelf that has been missing since 1994.
Saturn has not commented on the decision, though its northern jet streams have maintained their usual intensity. The decagon remains visible to the naked eye from deep space probes, a fact that the Bureau acknowledges but classifies as an observational artifact rather than a structural reality.
